Have you ever tried chatting with a native speaker online?

Hey there !

   I want to practice English online with a native speaker but I do not know  how to go about this . I have been thinking of finding a teacher online whether on Skype or on a website. I checked the last option out. I found this site which offer English lessons online which cost 15 $ per hour ! I think this is costly !

Have you ever tried something similar? Did you like it? have been ripped off? I hope not so :)

Hmmm , to be honest i tried it one time , i talked to american guy for 1 month or may be less , and it was usless for me

but i have many friends not english native speakers , buy yet i learned a lot from tthem

Yes, I have tried…... Of very short duration  If not through a microphone of course But it was not online lessons also  I think that embarrassing to talk with someone  Not near   you in English Level He she  must be patient      But if you  take lessons onlineIt can be less  embarssaingthats  his her job  

Yes, I talked with native English speaker. God! such a 'fanatic' dialect from London :D

I found very useful talking to a native speaker. I learnt even grammar rules during it. Exams have spoken parts, too, so you can't ignore conversations. The best way is – if your partner wants to really help you and has the patience – if you take notice of new expressions or spelling because even if it is written similar spelling varying.   

I've and i'll tell you, there is nothing amusing about it. it is just like talking with someone else!

Thank you very much for your posts ! I have tried speaking online to a native speaker myself. As Rik said, it was like speaking to anyone. I found this American guy who was learning Arabic. I taught him some Arabic while he taught me some English. That was awesome. He corrected my mistakes for me. I think this was very helpful because sometimes we make some mistakes but not be aware of them. And I agree with you that it is not helpful at all to practice your English with someone whose English is not good. This drives me nuts ! I tried Skype and MSN to find friends and chat with them on this voice thing.I got bored eventually because we do not share the same interests.
