What does that mean is the same as 'what does that stand for'. If you are looking at something written in another language, you could point to a part of the writing and say, "What does that stand for?"

It's not exactly the same as 'mean'. 'What does than mean' can be used for your own language but 'stand for' usually means something in another language or something in math or a symbol or a hand motion, things like that.
