Explain for me mean of word 'StackTrace' in IT?

I'm student. I program with Java i saw this function "printStackTrace()"

I don't know mean?

explain to help me! 

I think it means to print the stacks dependency variables.

ie x+y=z

y=a+b+c

c=2g

The trace for z will give you a,b,g,x.

The stack is everything that follows from

set g=9

To when z is calculated.

If in doubt just run the code and see what it does.
