Help! American english speakers needed !! :(

Hi guys,

As you'll know if you read my profile, I'm a literary translator. Cool job. But.

Silly as I can sometimes be, I've accepted to translate a text into English (though translators should stick to their mother-tongue only). Therefore, I'm now seriously considering hanging myself, or disappearing into some cave or other for the rest of my life :(

You know those old french movies, black and white, with cheeky women speaking loud and with a very sharp parisian accent? Well that's what I'm supposed to find an american-sounding equivalent to.

I wanted to use the word "bloody" somewhere, but I've read it sounded utterly ridiculous in the mouth of an American.

So please guys, what would you say? "Fucking" is too strong. I need something softer somehow.

(sigh)

Please, help? :)

Best,

Yun

Bloody is British.  You could use 'frickin'. Let me think on this and I'll send you some other ideas. Is it just in one sentence or in many?
