Lesson
Going through the lessons here on English Baby is a great way to learn English. And apart from taking one to one or group courses, a good idea is to find a language exchange partner. Many of you here probably have had one in the past or have one now. But what should a good language partner be like?
What to Look for in a Partner
They must be capable (a native speaker or a very high level), friendly and interested in YOU learning English. Remember that they want to learn your language and will want to speak it with you as much as they can. Make sure that they correct you and are interested in your learning. Be interested in their learning too.
Take Notes
During or after your exchange, write down what you have learned. Create different sentences using your newly learned phrases, vocabulary or grammar. Then use them in your next English class and language exchange. This is how you will remember what you have learned.
Express Yourself
Don't be afraid of speaking in your language exchange. This is a time to be creative and try new things and practice your spoken English. Use what you have learned here or in class and put it into context. This will greatly improve your English speaking.
A mutual exchange will help you both in the long run, but make sure that you find a partner that is right for you and that you get as much as you can out of your exchange.
