Why the Japanese don't want to admit their crime which happened during the War 2

During the War 2,Japanese and Germen killed many people and did big damage to the whole world.

After the War,Germen have said "sorry" to the world for many times.Now the world has forgived Germany.

But Japan don't think they did anything wrong.They said that the war they made was righteous,and they glorified the criminals who had ever attacked eastern countries.They even said that they will retaliate.

Of course,there is not any Chinese will be frightened.But we don't know why the Japanese like to attack other countries.Of course,they have been failure and they will be failure too!

They want to retaliate?OK,we will retaliate for the 35,000,000 dead people of Chinese who were killed by Japanese during the War 2 too!

One thing I can at least assure you of is that I really really do not think that Japan will go to war with China in your or my lifetime.  

Of course, Japan won't begin fire, but the reality is Japan DO invaded China. We must follow the truth.

Wow, tha's really a long period histroy in the world~ And it's a terrible mistake made by the Japanese government~ But I think it has nothing to do with Japanese people  _{nowadays there are so many people in China who blame the reason for this histroy to Japanese people}~ I totally don't agree!!! IT"S A JAPANESE GOVERNMENT"S MISTAKE & DARK SIDE OF COUSE….That all the people in China and Japan should share the peace now_~~That was the government thing~ politic issue shouldn't break the relationship between two nations~~

What the Japanese did in China was horrible. The Rape of Nanking alone was one of the largest massacres in human history.

But here are my problems:

The Japanese government HAS on many occasions apologized for its actions, and paid millions in reparations.

Most of the people that deny that Japan did anything wrong are apart of the so-called 'uyoku', the nationalist right wing that never really gets into power.  

The textbooks that cause so much controversy were never widely used, and even so, it was only certain quotations that caused trouble, rather than full denial of Japanese War Crimes.

My question is: What do you want Japan to do to atone for its past?

"Don't blame Japan, blame the US. They owe the world an apology. They owe China an apology for letting war criminals go free."

Douglas McArthur offered to not prosecute the Japanese for their crimes in China in exchange for their cooperation on handing over chemical warfare information to help in the Cold War.  That much is true.

BUT: Mao's China looked for proper relations with Japan and therefore completely ignored the past, never asking for apologies or reparations.
