The US State Department has appointed its first Special Representative to Muslim Communities.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Farah Pandith would play a leading role in US efforts to "engage Muslims around the world".

She said Ms Pandith, who was born in Indian-administered Kashmir, would bring years of experience to the role.

The appointment is part of President Barack Obama's attempts to improve relations with the Muslim world.

Mrs Clinton said Ms Pandith "sees her personal experience as an illustration of how Muslim immigrants to the US can successfully integrate themselves into American society".

The State Department said Ms Pandith, who is a Muslim, would be responsible for helping US efforts to "engage with Muslims around the world on a people-to-people and organisational level".

The statement said Ms Pandith was previously the senior adviser on Muslim engagement in the European and Eurasian region at the State Department and had worked in the Afghan capital, Kabul, with the US Agency for International Development.

In a speech in Cairo earlier this month, Mr Obama said there had been "years of distrust" between the West and Islam but he was seeking "a new beginning" in the relationship.

It would be nice to put away all diferences between both sides. I wish this were the first step to practice tolerance and respect.

Obama said the other day that Muslim countires must reject violence and recognize the state of Israel. Would that be a fair exchange for what you ask of the US?

boynamedsue:  ... pfff… ehrlich gesagt, ich habe wirklich keine Zeit um solche Ausreden zu beantworten. Wenn Sie etwas sagen wollen, dann verwenden Sie bitte auch Beweise und somit werden Sie mir auch beweisen, dass Sie ein redenswerter Person sind. Also machen Sie das zuerst. Solche Vorurteile höre ich oft und es ist nur eine typische Charaktereigenschaft von vielen Deutschen. 

erstens rassistisch bin ich nicht. Ich unterscheide zwischen westliche und islamische Welt und wir wollen Islam verbreitern, da es besser ist. Wir stehen unter Attacke von Westen, wie wir sehen. Sie könnten mal sich fragen, was deutsche Soldaten in Afghanistan machen oder wieso Merkel die zionistische Regime von Israel unterstützt. Sie können mal sich über die Geschichte von Israel informieren. In Deutschland stellt man Juden hoch wegen Holocaust, aber was Israel bisher mit Palestinenser gemacht hat, ist nichts anderes als eine Vertreibung und Völkermord.

Ich sage es wieder, USA und Israel sind unsere größte Feinde und sie haben uns nichts zu sagen. Heutzutage sieht man, dass die westliche Lebensstil sich schnell verbreitet, auch in muslimischen Ländern, durch die Medien und andere Ursachen. Das wollen wir stoppen! Respekt oder Toleranz sind nur Wörter. Ich lebe jetzt in Deutschland und lebe zwischen Deutschen und kann sehr gut beobachten, wie das alles hier funktioniert. Überall ist religiöse Diskrimierung von Muslimen. "Muslime sind alle Terroristen" ist weit verbreitete Ideologie in Deutschland. 

Ich will nicht, dass die Türkei in die EU kommt. Ich will nicht, dass mein Land westlich wird, wie wir im Westen des Landes beobachten können. Ihr zweites Beweis ist noch nicht gültig und vom ersten Beweis habe ich nichts mitbekommen.

Übrigens Sie sind derjenige, der seine Ausländerfeindlichkeit und Faschismus bewiesen hat. Ich hoffe Sie ändern sich.
