in china we have tradintional measure to make alcohol and wine, and we think  a proper amount of alcohol is good for us.  our ancester thought human's body  is  as important as its spirit, all of them have the right to enjoy themselves, that's why the God create us. but if people overdrink, that will be bad, so people should learn how to control themselves. but there was no forbiden law, because everybody above 18years has right and ability to decide what he wants to do.

so i think we have a different opinion for drinking, maybe that's becasue we have different culture.

Will you take the pains of proving to me the Gracious Allah prohibited drinking in religions before Islam? Do you have any proof from Bible to confirm the claim? Or do you merely have a verse from Bible with a contorted explanation; as all muslims, that is, all 'wise' muslims, have an 'alternative' explanation for almost any verse from anything?

Deuteronomy 32:14 describes God pouring out his blessings upon his people, blessings that include his people drinking "wine made from the blood of the grape." The promised land is described as "a land of grain and wine" (Deut. 33:28).

After the flood, Noah planted a vineyard, made wine and drank it, and got drunk. Lot drank wine and got drunk, too, and evil resulted (Gen 19). These are two clear abuses of alcohol. But there are other uses of alcohol in the same book that do not lead to evil. Melchizedek, Priest of God Most High, served Abram bread and wine as he blessed him (Gen 14). Isaac, too, drank wine during his blessing of Jacob (Gen 27).

David praised God when he wrote, "You cause the grass to grow for the livestock and plants for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food from the earth and wine to gladden the heart of man, oil to make his face shine and bread to strengthen man’s heart" (Psalm 104:14-15).

Jesus made (good) wine at the wedding in Cana (John 2). Jesus marveled at the Pharisees' rejection of John the Baptist because he did not eat bread and drink wine, and he marveled again at the Pharisees' rejection of himself because they thought he was "a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners" (Luke 7:33-34).

In Luke 22:18, Jesus plans on drinking of the "fruit of the vine" at, and not before, the coming of the kingdom.

when you drink alcohol you become not aware of things and pple around u.

and u may do bad things u would regret to do it.

I did not know that alcohol didn't have intoxicating property right from the start and only became intoxicating 1400 years ago. A marvellous theory, isn't it? When during the early days of Islam, Muhammed drank wine, didn't that possess intoxicating properties? Couldn't it 'fog the mind'? Wasn't it 'khamr'.....It is just that Allah didn't order to stop drinking.
