who said recorder is a child's instrument?

Yesterday I found in youtube a video of a french musician who plays his recorder in jazz music. It's really amazing! I have never listened nothing like this.

There are many people who can "play" the recorder. It's a very useful instrument to learn music. In fact, recorder is very popular at primary schools because it's easy to play it at a basic level. It's, however, incorrect to say that professionally is similarly easy. Recorder, like other instruments, requires significant study to play at an advanced level.
