Hi, I’ve got a question about the expression “to feel one’s gorge rise” that means to feel angry. Is it still used in English? If I say to a native speaker ” i felt my gorge rise” will he understand me?

Thx

Hi,

Though it is possible people would understand you, this is not a very common saying in English today.

An alternative could be, “I felt my blood boil,” or, “I was up in arms about it.” These convery the same meaning and would be considered more common.

Best,

Amy
