Steph: You know that movie 8 Mile?
Derek: Yeah. That was a pretty cool movie actually.
Steph: Yeah. After I saw it, I totally felt like I could rap.
Derek: Yeah. Did you wanna get up on the stage and do some rap battles?
Steph: Yeah. Totally. I mean, I felt like, I mean, if he could do it, I felt like I could be a freestyler, too. Didn’t you?
Derek: Um. Me, my rhythm is not so good. So, probably not. But it would be fun to see anyway.
Steph: I guess so. That would be really cool to go to one of those big empty warehouses and watch those guys battle it out.
Derek: Oh yeah. Definitely.

Have you seen the movie 8 Mile? That movie really inspired Steph. She even felt like she could be a rapper later. Wow! The title refers to the mile marker outside of Detroit where a lot of poor people live. This movie is kind of autobiographical for its leading actor, Eminem. He grew up in that area. Look at how far he’s come!
