Steph: Hey, Kyle. I’m gonna take you on a little trip down memory lane. Guess what I saw last night.
Kyle: I have no idea.
Steph: Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Kyle: I haven’t seen that movie in years.
Steph: I know. It’s awesome. You should totally see it again.
Kyle: What’s it about?
Steph: Ya know, it was about that Ridgemont High. That, all those high school kids and stuff and they’re all trying to graduate.
Kyle: I think I remember there was one guy named Spicoli.
Steph: Spicoli. Do you remember who that was?
Kyle: Not really.
Steph: That was Sean Penn.
Kyle: Right.
Steph: It was one of his first movies that he did.
Kyle: He was pretty cool in that role right?
Steph: He was. He was a total surfer dude.
Kyle: Surfer dudes are always cool.
Steph: Yeah. Ya know, and he was just kind of a bad student, surfer dude. But he came through in the end.
Kyle: So what happened? How did it end?
Steph: Well, I’m pretty sure that they all graduated. Ya know, eighties movies, they always have a happy ending.
Kyle: So high school’s over and on to college.
Steph: Yep, yep.

One cool thing about watching a film you haven’t seen in a while is remembering all the really funny parts in detail. After time, you forget all the details about the film.
Another great thing about watching movies you haven’t seen in a while is that you watch them with a new set of eyes. Some of the jokes you didn’t get when you were younger become clearer.
Need another reason? It’s fun! If you haven’t seen this movie and you are interested in American pop culture, you should go and rent it. If you’ve already seen it, go see it again, for fun!
