I like every song on 18. It’s actually very similar to Play – which is a good thing. The first single from the album is called “We Are All Made of Stars.” It’s an addictive song with a chorus that sticks in your head.
Check out some of the lyrics:
growing numbers
growing in speed
can’t fight the future
can’t fight what I see
people they come together
people they fall apart
no one can stop us now
‘cause we are all made of stars
In the song, Moby is singing about all of the people on the earth. “We are all made of stars,” he says. He means that we’re all the same. No matter what happens, we’re all human. It’s an uplifting message.

Moby’s real name is Richard Hall. The name ‘Moby’ is a nickname from his childhood and a reference to his great great granduncle, Herman Melville, who wrote the book “Moby Dick.”
Moby was a club DJ for a long time before his blend of electronica, dance, alternative, and pop music made him famous. Hopefully he’ll keep making albums for a long time.
Do you like Moby? Have you listened to his last album, Play? Do you like it? Come to the Music Mix message board and let us know!
Rock on,
