Steph: So Sara, are there any types of music that just really bug you?
Sara: You know what really bugs me is country music. And only because every single song is about heartbreak, or a love leaving or some kind of terrible tragedy happening. So that kinda bugs me
Steph: Totally, yeah, I feel the same way. Country music used to really, really bug me. But then I heard a few songs that weren’t about heartbreak and I was like, oohh, country music isn’t so bad after all.
Sara: Hmmm. Maybe I need to listen to some different music stations then, with different country songs.
Steph: Yeah, I mean, some of them are really funny. Have you ever heard the song, um, I’ve Got Friends in Low Places.
Sara: No, I haven’t heard that.
Steph: It’s a really funny song. And it’s, it’s a crack up you know. It’s talking about all the crazy people who hang out at bars and…
Sara: Maybe I need to listen to it.
Steph: Yeah, totally.
Sara: What kinda music bugs you?
Steph: Well, country music used to, like I said. And, um, when I can’t hear the lyrics of music, that really bugs me.
Sara: Yeah, that bugs me too. ‘Cause I like to be able to sing along. And if I can’t hear it then I can’t sing along.
Steph: Yeah, yeah, so, I dunno. People should write better music where we can sing along.
Sara: That would be a good idea.

Discussion
Sometimes I have to wonder why some people like one kind of music and others can’t stand it. As I get older, I have noticed that my musical style changes from year to year. Do you still listen to the same music you did 5 years ago?
