All the gossip this year about celebrity babies and break ups hasn’t been enough to catapult some stars into the ring of the top ten most powerful celebrities on the planet. In fact, despite all the media frenzy about their personal lives, some celebrities have fallen so far from grace to not even make it into the top 100.
Every year, Forbes Magazine puts together a list of the top 100 most powerful celebrities. Listen to Dave and Kevin talk about who’s hot and who’s not in the world of the celebrities.

Dave: So, the list of the most powerful celebrities came out this week.
Kevin: Ah, yes. What did it say?
Dave: Well, who would you think is the most powerful celebrity?
Kevin: I would vote, someone like George Clooney.
Dave: George Clooney, why?
Kevin: Well, he’s really popular. He does, you know, he does activism, he’s quite well-rounded, he’s a little bit older, he seems very established. In terms of celebrity, celebrity actor, I would say George Clooney. In terms of like, famous person, ah, well, it could also be someone like Steven Spielberg or Oprah Winfrey.
Dave: Yeah, yeah, because celebrity doesn’t include only actors. It includes, I mean, sports stars.
Kevin: Yeah, yeah.
Dave: But, the number one, I mean, you’re on the right track, it is an actor, but think more mainstream.
Kevin: More mainstream. Um, well, it can’t be Jack Black, although I’d really like that, I think.
Dave: Not Jack Black. I don’t even think he was in the list of the top 100. He’s definitely not number one.
Kevin: Well, who is it?
Dave: Ah, I’ll give you another clue. He jumped on a couch.
Kevin: Oh, it’s Tom Cruise. Oh, that’s a shame.

Chalk it up to his marriage to Katie Holmes, his new baby, and his latest movie Mission Impossible: 3, because Tom Cruise came out on top this year as the most powerful celebrity on the planet. Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt came in at number 20, while the two lovely ladies in his life, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston, both tied for number 35.
Interestingly, some celebrities, such as Britney Spears – who in 2003 was ranked the number one most powerful celebrity – did not even make it into the rankings. Some careers are just meant to fade, fade away.
Other movers and shakers in the celebrity world include:
Jessica Simpson – 44
Ronaldo – 54
Paris Hilton – 56
J. Lo – 59
Leonardo DiCaprio – 67
