A few weeks ago, English, baby! posted a lesson about shaving. Because so many of you had comments, we bring you a similar lesson on the subject.
Many women reach for a razor when they want to make some hair disappear. It’s definitely the cheapest way to get rid of unwanted hair on legs or under arms. But waxing is also very popular. Waxing eyebrows is a lot less painful than plucking them. And many women prefer waxing because it lasts longer than shaving. The hair doesn’t grow back as fast.
Another method of hair removal, laser treatments are also becoming popular, although they are pretty expensive. After a series of laser treatments, the hair will supposedly never grow back. It’s like a permanent shave.
Women aren’t the only ones getting rid of unwanted hair. Men get waxed too. Typically they wax their backs, chests and bellies. It is quite painful and can reduce the most macho guy to tears!
Listen to Amanda and Marni discuss waxing and laser treatments.

Marni: So, the other day, a friend of mine was trying to drag me into a salon to get waxed and I was just, like, that is way too painful. There’s no way I could do it.
Amanda: So you’ve never been waxed before?
Marni: Never.
Amanda: Which area of your body were you considering?
Marni: The nether regions.
Amanda: Really? So you don’t… because you don’t want to pay that amount? Or the pain?
Marni: I was worried about the pain, and frankly I just, I can’t justify spending 40 or 50 dollars.
Amanda: Interesting. Because I would pay any amount to get every hair off this body, with the exception of my head.
Marni: Really?
Amanda: Yes. And I actually, um, purchased a laser package for the nether region and it took six sessions and it’s still there. And they guaranteed.
Marni: So are you upset?
Amanda: I’m very upset.
Marni: It seems like a …
Amanda: I paid hundreds of dollars and I had to finance it.
Marni: Wow.
Amanda: Thank you very much.
Marni: Oh my goodness. See, and to me, I just think hundreds of dollars I could buy… I mean, that money could be so much better spent. You know, I could give it to starving kids.
Amanda: I agree. I do feel guilty about it. I just was paying for the fact that I would never have to maintenance it ever again.
Marni: Right.
Amanda: Ever again. Til death.
Marni: And long run it might pay off.
Amanda: Mm hm.
Marni: Interesting.

Marni doesn’t want to spend the money to get waxed or get laser treatments. She would rather put her money to better use.
On the other hand, Amanda wishes she could get rid of all of her body hair forever. She doesn’t care how much it costs!
Many women want to get rid of the hair around their “nether regions” so that no hair is showing when they wear a bathing suit.
Have you ever been waxed or had laser treatments?
