To be a gold digger
(n.) To be someone who uses other people for their money.
Background: American hip-hop artist Kanye West had a popular song called "Gold Digger." As an idiom, a gold digger is a term for someone who uses another person (usually romantically) for his or her money. For example, people said that Anna Nicole Smith was a gold digger when she married an 89-year-old billionaire when she was only 26.
Example: Matt is a gold digger. He's been going on dates with the 75-year-old heiress to the telephone company.
Mercedes is such a gold digger. She doesn't have a job but she spends time with millionaires at the fancy bars.
heir (masculine)/heiress (feminine): Someone who's going to inherit a fortune.
fancy: very nice or upscale.
