You sure look like you tied one on last night. How many did you have? Fifteen! You must feel awful, I mean, if you feel half as bad as you look. You’ve got some major bags under your eyes, and your head must be throbbing. What’s that? You think you ought to go to the doctor? I don’t know about that. You’re better off listening to Marni and Amanda for hangover cures, buddy.

Marni: So, uh, this morning I was feeling a little under the weather...
Amanda: Why?
Marni: I do admit I drank a little too much wine last night…
Amanda: Ooooo…
Marni: ...and I was trying to think of that surefire hangover cure.
Amanda: What have you heard? I’ve heard of several, but what did you do?
Marni: Well I…when it’s a appropriate and I don’t have to work…I find a little hair of the dog…
Amanda: I know. It’s crazy.
Marni: Bloody Mary, I found.
Amanda: And it’s so hard to throw that back when you’re about to vomit. It works!
Marni: I wasn’t to the vomiting stage, but just that sort of fuzzy head, achy…
Amanda: You know what works for me, is either saltine crackers, but it has to be a whole package of them, a whole sleeve, or, pure ginger. So kind of like when you have a tummy ache you’re told to take either peppermint of ginger? Same thing. It neutralizes all the alcohol. Now, your stomach burns, but it’s better than feeling that nausea, right?
Marni: Well absolutely. Nothing’s worse than nausea. And ginger’s good for you. Interesting. There’s all those crazy remedies out there, you know, eggs and everything in your blender.
Amanda: Well there’s all those products too, tablets and pills, and come on.
Marni: Marketing.

Discussion
Marni drank too much wine last night, so she’s not feeling very good today. When she has a hangover and doesn’t have to work, she finds that drinking more alcohol actually makes her feel better. Amanda agrees, and so does the guy in the video. Many people drink a Bloody Mary, a drink with vodka and tomato juice, when they’re hungover. Amanda says that sometimes it’s hard to drink a Bloody Mary when you’re hungover because of nausea. Luckily, Marni isn’t so hung over that she feels nauseous.
Amanda recommends some other hangover cures, including saltines, a kind of dry, tasteless crackers, or raw ginger. Amanda and Marni agree that those are probably better cures than anything too elaborate or a pill that someone’s trying to sell.
Do you have any special tricks for getting over a hangover?
