Jason: This your place?

Amanda: Yeah. This is my house. Thanks for walking me home.

Jason: Oh, yeah no problem. Thanks for letting me.

Amanda: That was totally unnecessary. I…oh, my keys…

Jason: Is it the weather proofing keeping it…Oh there you go!

Amanda: Oh thanks.

Jason: It was only barely stuck.

Amanda: Wow. Thank you.

Jason: Yeah.

Amanda: Okay, um, well, I guess I’ll see you around.

Jason: Yeah, for sure! Maybe…

Amanda: What’s going on? What…what…Oh did you forget something in here? Like your keys or…

Jason: No, no I thought that…um…I’m sorry. I thought that maybe this was sort of a date and maybe we could go on another date or something…

Amanda: Oh, like a walking home date?

Jason: Yeah…

Amanda: Is that what kids do these days?

Jason: I don’t know…

Amanda: I…um…gosh...so this is kinda awkward. Um. Maybe…

Jason: I thought maybe we had sort of a connection.

Amanda: No kind of! I’m totally cool with that. Maybe we should just simmer down a little bit and just maybe…baby steps?

Jason: You want to take it slow?

Amanda: Have heard of like, going through the bases? You know like, first base…

Jason: Sure, sure. Alright, well, cool.

Amanda: Okay.

Jason: Okay I’ll see you later, Amanda.

Amanda: Okay. So, um. Bye, buddy. Okay. Bye. Thanks. See ya.

Discussion

When Jason and Amanda get to her door, it seems to be stuck. Yet Jason opens it very easily.

Once the two get inside, Jason tries to kiss Amanda goodbye. She backs away confused and Jason gets a little embarrassed. He says he thought they had a connection and Amanda says they do, but they have to take things slower.

She asks him to woo her step by step like a baseball player rounds the bases. Jason seems happy to do so and leaves excited. Amanda doesn’t seem nearly as excited about Jason as Devan said she would be. What do you think happened? Do you think Devan lied to Jason because she likes Mason and so does Amanda? Or do you think Amanda really does like Jason and just wants to take it slow?
