Marni:  So I was at the record store the other day looking for holiday gifts and I came across Goldfrapp and…

Devan:  Oh, she’s awesome.

Marni:  I don’t know her! And somebody I know was like, “Oh, I love that album” and I was like, “Wow, I feel so uncool.” So, what do you know about her? I’m totally intrigued.

Devan:  Oh, she’s totally amazing. She’s from England, Madonna’s like her number one fan...

Marni:  Really?

Devan:  Yeah and she’s really huge around the world but in the US she hasn’t broken out as much but she’s really awesome.

Marni:  I wonder why she’s not big here. I don’t know, are we just slow to catch on to new trends?

Devan:  I guess so. She makes like electro pop music which is the poppy mainstream stuff in Europe, but here her music is more obscure. It’s kind of weird or avant-garde compared to US pop artists, but she’s really amazing. She’s got this crazy presence.

Marni:  I kind of heard that. Like, you just see her and you’re so, you know, enthralled by her.

Devan:  You should get that album for your friend. I guarantee you he’d love it.
