Present Progressive:

Do you know what present progressive is? Look for it in the chat below.

Was present progressive used in the chat above?

It was! "Palsm20: Hey Jen, checking my email..." People use present progressive almost every time they chat!

Present Progressive has two parts:

the verb to be (example: am, is, are)
verb infinitive with -ing ending (example: watching, checking)

- the basic, simple verb and add -ing

Here are some examples from chatting:

What are you doing right now?
I am sitting in front of the computer. Just chatting.
I am not working right now. Message me later.

Can you tell how you use present progressive in questions?

You can use the pattern below:

- What + verb to be + person + verb -ing?

- What are you doing?

Next time you chat and you are talking about things right now use present progressive. You can use present progressive with:

Things happening now!
I am writing this lesson.
Trends.
More and more students are finding answers online.
Things you always do!
He is always coming in late.

you can use present progressive with things that you are always doing. This can include trends. For example: Americans are always smiling.

Another example of a sentence with "always" would be:

When I am speaking, I am always thinking ahead.

thanks lot for your comments. about last comments in english"Things you always do!" we use present tense but you write , we can use present progressive, please tell me more about this state.
