New love can make you do strange things. When new lovers first fall for each other, they find themselves staying up all night together, traveling to be with one another and forgetting commitments. Sometimes they learn a language to be together.

But certainly online love makes people do the strangest things of all. They type back and forth for hours on end and exchange photos by the dozen. If you fall in love with someone online, next thing you know you might be watching your computer while trying to fry some whole lemons in your kitchen.

Marni

Beren: What are you doing?

Marni: Um, uh, well…

Beren: You’re cooking and looking at…

Marni: I’m trying to cook and…the…OK. So I’ve been…I know, I know, it’s my dirty little secret. I’ve been having this online relationship, which is kind of a new thing for me…

Beren: Who is that?

Marni: His name’s John. I just think he’s really awesome. He’s this really great guy and we seem to have a lot in common, so I’m trying to cook because I heard he really likes Middle Eastern food, or that’s what he was saying. I just…I don’t know what I’m doing…

Beren: But you have your computer by the stove, which doesn’t make sense. Is he watching you right now? Is there a camera?

Marni: No…I mean, I just, in case he sends me a message. I just don’t want to miss it.

Beren: In the time it takes you to cook these lemons. Whole lemons.

Marni: I don’t really know how to cook. But I don’t want him to know that because he really likes Middle Eastern food and I was thinking, “OK, well if he thinks I can cook, then you know, that’s a plus, right? Everybody likes a gal who can cook, so…”

Beren: Sure.

Marni: Yeah, so I’m trying to figure it all out, but it I want it to be close by just in case.

Beren: OK. Cool.

Marni: Yeah.

Beren: Best of luck to ya.

Marni: Thanks. I need it.

Discussion

Beren walks into Marni’s kitchen and discovers a very strange scene. Marni’s computer is sitting on the counter so she can look at while she cooks. While she cooks lemons. Whole lemons.

So Marni explains that she has a new online boyfriend. His name is John. Maybe you’ve seen him around the Ebaby!...

Anyway, John likes Middle Eastern cooking, so Marni is trying to learn how to cook. She’s not doing a very good job of it, probably because she’s distracted by her new love.

Beren slowly backs away from Marni as though she’s insane.

as well as i can remember, there are almost no mistake since i took up the lessons, although you have to know that this is spoken english, which sometimes isn't grammatically correct.

Strange things for love…????

Well, I don't remember if I'd done soemthing like this, but like the intro said, I stayed late at night just typing back and forth for hours and then wake up next day thinkin' in the person or what is he doing at the moment or so…Uh Oh, maybe… It's that I'm care a lot for that someone, or is it Love…? hehehe… I don't want to think that is Love <3!

But by the time, it's really nice feelin' someone in the other side, maybe someone from other culture, country, who speak other language or so, someone who has a lot on common with you. Online relationship !!! Thumbs up for it!!!

I agree that love can make people crazy. Because I'm doing the same thing like Marni.

I fell in love with a girl 3 years ago, and we once loved each other deeply. But the fact was that she lived in Canada while I lived in China which made a long distance between us. She couldn't stand being lonely for such a long time and just told me that I would find a better girl then we just broke up.

However, I can feel that she still loves me and my love to her has never stoped. What should I do?
