Hello!
I love winter! The cold weather means that there is snow in the mountains and I can take part in all my favorite winter sports. I like to ski and snowshoe, but my favorite thing is snowboarding. There’s nothing like busting huge air on a snowboard.
I spent last weekend snowboarding at Mt. Bachelor in Central Oregon. Listen in to my conversation with Miguel to hear all about it.

Miguel: So Beth, how was the snowboarding this weekend?
Beth: Oh, it was awesome! The snow was beautiful and it was warm and sunny out.
Miguel: Is that what you look for in a snowboarding adventure, is the, the weather the key point? Or what else makes it a lot of fun?
Beth: Definitely the weather, but also the company. It’s really fun to go out with friends who like to ride in the same areas that you like.
Miguel: So how good are you? Are you, like, doing a bunch of tricks and aerials and all kinds of crazy stuff? Or are you more like a straight-forward, go down the hill kind of rider?
Beth: Well, I like to go down challenging hills, like the black hills, but I’m definitely inspired by people who can go through the snowboard parks and they do all these neat tricks and I’m sorta scared of the, the park and all the crazy jumps.
Miguel: Have you ever been hurt snowboarding?
Beth: Well, I always wear a helmet, so luckily I haven’t been hurt yet.
Miguel: That’s good to hear.

Skiing is still the most popular mountain sport, but snowboarding is catching up. When you go to the mountains in the U.S., it seems that almost one-third of the people are on snowboards.
If you’ve never tried snowboarding, I suggest you give it a shot. It’s hard to get the hang of at first, but after your second or third day, you’ll be loving it!
Have a great week!
Beth
