Well, it’s beginning to look a lot like winter here in the Pacific Northwest. Winter is a great time to take a little road trip with friends. This week, Sara and Steph get a little bit lost and aren’t really sure how far they have to go. Sara has one simple question. “Are we there yet?”

Sara: So, are we there yet? I feel like we’ve been in the car forever.
Steph: Gosh. You sound like my little cousin. She’s always asking that question.
Sara: Well, I hate it. I feel like we’ve been in the car for so long. How many more miles?
Steph: Well, maybe like 30. But I’m just not really quite sure where we are.
Sara: Aren’t there any mile markers?
Steph: Um, I don’t see any. I wish I had a GPS in this car.
Sara: Yeah. That would be really cool, to tell us exactly where we are.
Steph: Yeah. I wish we had that. But we don’t. I think it’s about 30 miles though.
Sara: All right. Well, I hope we’re not lost.
Steph: Me, too. Well, we’ll be there soon.
Sara: I hope so.
Steph: Yeah.

When I was a kid, my parents always got irritated with me when I asked them this question. It’s a little bit like scratching your fingernails on a blackboard. Although it’s fun to get into the car for a trip, the long ones can cause you to get a little bit restless in the car. Do you like to take long trips? When you do, do you drive or take the bus or train?
