Go Super to Listen Go Super!

Have you ever been stuck on a bus with someone blaring bad music from his cell phone? If so, you understand why listening to music in public can be so annoying.

Unfortunately, it’s now easier than ever for people to play their music wherever they go. From iPods to cell phones that can now store your entire music library, there are lots of ways to become a traveling one-man band. Hear Mason try to convince Jeff that if you’re going to listen to music in public, you should at least use some headphones.

Jeff:  Dude, I…My parents won’t buy me a car, and these bus rides are boring. So I want to play my music on the bus, and some old lady yells at me.

Mason:  Well, did you use headphones?

Jeff:  Nah, man.

Mason:  But, you know, the polite thing to do would be to be respectful that maybe other people don’t want to listen to that music at that particular time.

Jeff:  I listen to good music.

Mason:  Sure, but, you know, again, I think some headphones, where you could enjoy your music…I happen to love Gene Krupa’s big band. Maybe you’re not a big fan of Gene Krupa’s big band. So if I were to just start playing Gene Krupa big band on the bus very loudly out of my cell phone, where I’m sure it does not sound all that good, coming from those little speakers, would you wish that I was listening to that privately?

Jeff:  Man, you’re old. Do you even have a cell phone that plays music?

Mason:  Well, it makes sounds when someone calls me. So yes. That means it plays music, right?

Jeff:  I guess.

Go Super to Listen Go Super!

Jeff likes to listen to music when he rides the bus. But he was recently yelled at by another passenger. He thinks he should be able to play his music in public as much as he wants.

Mason suggests that Jeff use headphones when listening to music in public. That way, he can enjoy his music, but he will not bother anyone else. Mason points out that Jeff might not enjoy listening to other people’s music, either.

Do you like to listen to music on your iPod or cell phone when you’re in public? Do you use headphones? Does it annoy you when other people listen to their music in public?

I don’t want society to hear about what I ate last night, and how my stomach was bloating afterwards..

I don’t how people are so brave to spill out their private conversations for the world, this utter madness

ola33, Joe Dassin is a very good singer. My mother likes him so much. I like him as well, but he is little bit far away from the  music I like.

Snoopyboy!!!! What a wise words: “Mind your manners in public and draw some prestige for your own interest.”  I think it is the only thing we have got in common. I also draw some prestige for my own interest in public places. :))) One more thing. I also prefer to talk to mobile phone in remote location. I don’t like to talk in public places (especially in bus and subway). I don’t like when society hear me. :)

Bird phobia, then let’s replace peacock feather , with “bunny rabbit tail” : )

You won’t find too much greenery around the South Pole, Ola, unless of course you’re referring to the The Aurora Australis  phenomenon.

Antique shop? I once saw a set of prosthetic teeth at a shop I visited

Build a snowman, snoopy, right now when there’s some snow. Or we soon end  up with Antarctica blossoming flowers and interspersed with greeny lanes. Well, it’s South, supposed to be :)

I love antique shops. Sometimes, people don’t know what they donate to those shops.

Peacock feather.., I have a bird phobia :)) but thanks for advice ;)

you know they still carry those items in the antique shops and museums, Ola.

Or try any gadget with “Bose” brand , I’ve heard the sound is so crisp, that the feeling is comparable to an angel fondling your ears with a peacock feather.

Snoopy, the sound is way much better on a record player rather than on modern gadgets. I wish I hadn’t got rid of the one. Now, I miss it.

Snoopy, his music, his music. :)) Joe Dassin is a metonym for his beautiful music.

When I’m crying the blues, ( like missing the snow now, we don’t have too much) I listen Joe Dassin :) It cheers me up.

“Oh, my I’ll get crazy from that noise pollution and even Joe Dossin won’t save me”

I like the noise pollution part, what a metaphor! ( I guess I can call it that)... but to top it off  you mentioned Joe Dossin, of course I didn’t know the guy… so I looked him up on Wikipedia and found out that he had passed away long ago.

How could he possibly had saved you, Ola

Kotlesya, your story triggered my memory. Once we also went on a picnic to the beautiful park. You can see there some people meditating and contemplating, sitting motionlessly in a lotus position with their eyes closed. Who wouldn’t? The area is so serene and so picturesque with the lake nearby until one guy with the company showed up and started performing his music strumming a guitar. Oh, my that was so annoying, plus the guy was completely tone deaf. The only precious moments of serene happiness was when the guy was going swimming. Thanks God he wasn’t singing in the water. But after, forgeting about food, everything, he got to to his ‘singing’ again. The whole day was spoiled. I got home exhausted and never visited the park again.

Snoopy, as usual, when you get “serious”  your posts are worth of printing  . Among others I like  that we must have self-respect , I don´t also like to be portrayed  as a person of  bad manners ,to say the least.

Here in Brasil guys always do this,

But i think this is very very rude and uneducated. I hate when it happens.

Each person has their own favorite music style and it must be respect (i’m not obligated to listen songs i don’t enjoy), behind it, public places also must be respect because different kinds of person share the it.

That’s it!
