Everything becomes cool if you just wait long enough. Glasses are a perfect example. For a long time, glasses were nerdy. Now they’re so hip, even people with perfect vision are wearing them.

When shopping for a new pair of frames, there are many different sizes, shapes, and colors to choose from. You can get thick and chunky frames, or small, sleek frames. You can even get glasses that turn into sunglasses when you step outside. It’s never been so good to be a four eyes. Hear Jason and Amy talk about glasses.

Jason:  Something miraculous has happened for people without perfect vision everywhere.

Amy:  What?

Jason:  Glasses have become cool again!

Amy:  It’s true! I kind of wish I could wear glasses.

Jason:  You could, I mean…

Amy:  No, but you cannot wear glasses if you don’t need them. That is ridiculous.

Jason:  But people do!

Amy:  I know, but I think that’s really silly.

Jason:  You can buy them in stores with just regular lenses that don’t do anything.

Amy:  I know. I think glasses are cute. I really like glasses. But I think it’s ridiculous to wear them if you don’t have to.

Jason:  Yeah. I have these vintage Buddy Holly glasses, and people often ask me if they’re real. And I say, “Yes! They’re real glasses.”

Amy:  That’s crazy. Well, I recently went shopping for glasses with a friend of mine who needed to get a new pair. And I was just amazed by how much putting on a pair of glasses changes your face. It’s really a big thing to put glasses on your face. And different ones have such a different effect.

Jason:  Yeah. I have two pairs. I have one that’s really…you can’t miss that they’re glasses. And then the others are trying to be as minimal as possible.

Amy:  But now, you’re right, people just go all out when it comes to glasses. Big frames, you know…

Jason:  What happened? Was it Weezer? Who started this?

Amy:  I don’t know. That was so long ago.

Jason:  It was slow. It was a slow build.

Amy:  It was.

Jason:  Because glasses were so nerdy for so long.

Amy:  It’s true, but times have changed.

Go Super to Listen Go Super!

Jason says that wearing glasses has become cool. That’s good for him, since he has to wear glasses anyway.

Amy thinks glasses are cute and sometimes wishes she had to wear them. Jason tells her she can wear glasses even if she doesn’t need them. Stores sell frames for people whose vision is fine. But Amy thinks it’s silly to wear glasses if you don’t really need them.

Jason wonders why glasses suddenly became cool. Nobody knows, but he and Amy agree that glasses have gone from nerdy to hip.

Do you wear glasses? Do you think glasses are cute? What kind of frames do you like?

snoopyboy, you are correct as always about the sensitivity and accuracy of senses of blind people. This statement concerns not only blind people, but it concerns people with bad sight too. I have noticed, that my eyes have conformed  to distinguish the features of the shape and the gait of the person from the distance very quickly and accurately. My eyes can’t see the detailes on the distance clearly, but they quickly catch the “object integrally  ” and never fail me :) When my sight was good I did not have such sense like this.

I knew you use 3G modem yourself ;) We both like this invention.

Try to beg your inspiration come back to your soul.

The fairy tale about la-la-land would be superb. I would read it to my kids, but please don’t forget to mention about coloured unicorns ;)

Ola33 , I can believe him, I’ve heard similar stories about people that had lost their sights., all their other senses have become very sensitive and accurate.

Very interesting about senses. Keith Urban, Nicole Kidman’s husband, has undergone a throat surgery recently and with this wasn’t allowed to talk for three weeks. He says that his listening skills have developed fantastically during this time.

if your days turns in nights, while you watch the sun set on a faraway horizon.

Know, know that I will make a world of words built around your needs, just to please you. a World of words, in which the sun rises and sets at your command, a world where the celestial clouds will spell “butta”  .

a world in which manna will fall in the form of cakes and butterflies”

Parion, sometimes we learn with our senses, sometimes, we don’t need the traditional recipes. the recipes of our senses work like a charm, the food we’ll always fond to prepare, the food that bring up good memories …butter to our peacans

Extract from “The book  of Butta”

“There in  an all-american gothic styled kitchen a young butta with curly long hair, a teethy smile accross a gently freckled face, with the “he”friend molding together the dough of a  soon to be cake that’s being prepared so slowly.their fingers entwined impulsively and stiffened by the cement of sugar they were carving, since then they never parted, they lived happily ever after”

I remember seeing kids getting picked on for wearing glasses back in the days. Those who wore glasses really stood out and were often seen as the loners, the nerds of the school, and they definitely were human magnets for bullies. And if you were planning on courting a girl with one of those goggles on, well let’s just say you’d have more luck finding the pot at the end a rainbow. It’s funny that  what once was considered geeky and lame are what are “in” now , I’m talking about, broad-framed glasses, the tight pants that weren’t long and cool enough, the checkered shorts, the fitted shirts and a whole lot more. Now people are keen to wear glasses and endorse anything that’s vintage and nerdy. This is such a drastic change of views, and I think all the nerds are happy they’re now worshipped as fashion pioneers and icons. Who do they have to be grateful for Steve Urkel or Napoleon Dynamite?

Personally, I don’t wear glasses to make any fashion statement or to look “cool”. I wear sunglasses, and I’ll cough up a relatively high amount for a genuine and high-end polarized brand of sunglasses for their quality, they just happened to look good. But I won’t deliberately break my piggy bank over some overpriced –trash- ban lids glasses just because some famous actor wore them.  I might be a lame old stick for stating this; but It’s hard for me understand why reading glasses can add to a person’s appeal, other than giving the impression that the person wearing  them is smart, maybe? I’ve seen people with lens-less glasses, literally just a silly oversized rim around their eyes. I don’t know; maybe it’s just me, maybe I find it hard to keep up with the fast pace technologies and the ever changing fashion trends.

Ok, Okay… I have a fetish :  ) I like when a woman takes her glasses off and nibble on the earpiece part…staring at me, I find that very inviting. It gets me nervous, hot under the collar and I don’t mean angry .  (What was that?) ; )

3G modem, Lesya.. I have one with me everywhere I go. and no, I’m not busy writing the 3rd part to be honest ; ( .My intelligence is growing weary , I think I blew up a fuse in my brain  ; ). I can’t comr up with anything that makes sense now…

but  ...it’s always nice to come on here and see you guys having lovely conversation.
