Go Super to Listen Go Super!

We all know the type: the person who just won’t be quiet until you pay attention to him or her. This person might, literally, put themselves right in your sights, so you can’t look anywhere without seeing him or her. Or, maybe, the person is just so loud and aggressive that it feels as if he or she is literally in your face.

Keira Knightley doesn’t deny that her co-star Steve Carell is funny, but she says that he has a more subtle, or less aggressive, brand of humor. He doesn’t need to be in-your-face to get his humor across. And, even better, he makes his co-stars seem even funnier.

What do you prefer, subtle, calmer humor, or humor that’s more in-your-face?

Examples

1. Examples - Hear some example sentences.

Go Super to Listen Go Super!

“She’s so in-your-face when she wants to get my attention. She doesn’t know that I’d call on her if she just waited patiently.”

“His brand of humor is so in-your-face. I really prefer a comedian that’s more subtle.”

“The new TV commercials are so in-your-face. They really give me a headache!”

For me, i prefer the person who is cool and serious in the same time, Who knows when it’s time to laugh, And when he tries to make me laugh, i laugh from the bottom of my heart, And when he’s being serious, He knows how to stop everyone at their limits.. As simple as that!

Cool

I prefer subtle humor because I think this kind of humor is more difficult for the comedians, they have to think and effort more just for one laugh

This is not politely good expression
When we try to be bold with strangers we will be in your face with them
Comedian in your face is someone is insulting you and you are laughing
I feel sorry to see such people
But what do you do
We become enslaved by media

In -your-face humor gets old so easily. Case in point, this Bozo in the lesson is not getting any smile out of me no matter how close he gets to my face. But if you put him around a couple of kids and they find him entertaining, I might laugh at some of his tricks. Laughter can be so contagious that you can’t help but to laugh along.  But other times, you just laugh at people because they’re only trying so desperately. Stepping over a banana peel multiple times when  you know it’s there, for example, I hate when clowns come up with this silly trick , isn’t funny at all ;)

I’m all for the subtle humor, smart and witty humor, but not too crude please. If something is branded funny at the expense someone else’s suffering , it isn’t for me.  I must confess that some of those pranks I watch on YouTube are darn hilarious. They kind of remind me of the days when I used to dresse up my adoptive sister’s doll as Chucky ;) and dangle it off my balcony in front of the people. After a couple weeks, everyone in the neighborhood knew about it, that in-your-prank grew bland an dI had to find another nocturnal hobby ;)

On the screen, I think Owen Wilson is hilarious, Snoopy from the Peanuts is too ;).

Keira Knightley and Steve Carell are both great actresses and some of my favorite comedians ( I still have to laugh when I think about the airplane-toilette scene in his other movie ).

I generally don’t like it much when somebody gets in-your-face. I personally think that use of humor and especially the kind of humor should always be situation-dependent. I preffer spontaneous, dry sense- and irrepressible sense of humor.

What I absolutely dislike is bitter humor which make other people feel bad.

I like a hearty smile but, if you asked me ,the humor that  I dislike  or I am not into it, is  when somebody trying to attract attention  starts cracking up jokes one after another , puff, give me a brake !!!

Olya, thank you for the funniest video. I can’t help laughing.:))) What a dance! All the same, he did what he had wanted.:))) I love the end. “Get out!” Hahaha

My favourite comedy actor is  Rowan Atkinson  (Mr. Bean). If I’m in a bad mood, I often watch one of his merriments.:) I do also like Benny Hill with his refined humor.:)

To make me laugh is not easy, so, I think, I prefer a kind of humor where there is no stupidness but it sparkles with sharp jokes wich make me accept them  like clever ones.:)))

As William Davis said,   “The kind of humor I like is the thing that makes me laugh for five seconds and think for ten minutes.”

But humor is humor. :)People love just feel relaxed laughing again and again. We all need it.

In order to watch your favourite comic, “Press any key.  Hmmm… where’s the any key?” :)))

I think the calmer humor is better and that doesn’t include just the comedy but also everything in life, if you keep seeing and hearing something and you feel you’re forced to do it you’re gonna definitely get sick of it so for me i prefer the calmer humor.
