News: Cargo plane crashes in Afghanistan, killing 7 Americans.

Let's talk about two vocabulary "cargo," and "crash" in the above sentence.
cargo: the lading or freight of a ship, airplane, etc.
The ship can carry a cargo of 1, 000 tons.
(這船能載一千噸貨物。)
crash: to break or fall into pieces; collide violently and noisily.
An airliner crashed west of Denver last night.
(昨夜一架客機在丹佛西邊墜毀。)
P.S. If your laptop or computer suddenly shuts down, you can use "crash" to describe the situation.
You can say "The computer crashed."
Btw, do you know where fuel tanks of an airplane are? :)

大家有沒有看到飛機墜機的新聞, 真的是R.I.P....
墜機的那架飛機是貨機, 貨機理所當然就是載貨的飛機。
所以"cargo"就是「貨物」, 而且cargo可以用在飛機、船貨、陸運的貨物也都可以用。
再來看一下crash這個字, crash是「墜落/ 碰撞」。但是crash還可以當作「當機」。如果你在跟朋友聊天聊得很盡興, 結果突然當機斷線, 你的朋友可能會問你"What's wrong? You're offline?" (發生了甚麼事? 你斷線了耶!), 這時候你就可以說"Oh, my laptop crashed." (我筆電當機了)
單字看完後, 老師要跟大家講一個飛機小知識~ 大家知道飛機的油桶在飛機的哪個部位嗎? :) 飛機的 fuel tank在飛機的翅膀裡面, 飛機的翅膀並不是空的, 而是裝滿油的唷~~請看老師的貼圖,塗色的部分都是油桶:)
