Imagine that you want to run a marathon. Can you just buy some running shoes, head out the door, and do it? Probably not! Unless you are already a professional runner, a marathon is a long way to go without training first. If you have your feet on the ground, you know that you’ll need to start with shorter runs and eventually work your way up to the daunting distance of 26.3 miles!

To have one’s feet on the ground means to be realistic. People with their feet on the ground are not big dreamers. They are aware of the problems and challenges in life. Patti LaBelle has been a well-known singer for decades. However, she has a realistic outlook on life and knows that she is famous because of her fans. She is grateful for their support and takes the time to recognize and appreciate them.

Being a child I thought I know everything about love but while growing gradually I’m keeping my feet on the ground.

Hard to say, but I’m trying my best to plant my feet on the ground. Only when they are firmly planted, could I get rid of those nonsense thoughts and take better responsibility to guarantee a more charming body and soul. To keep my feet on the ground, I need to keep myself going on exercise and reading, making full prepartion for current unrealistic thing to be realistic.

I recently watched Patti LaBelle, Aretha Franklin, and others perform at the White House on TV and they brought the house down. Patti’s singing was still strong and they sounded good.

Since Julito said what he said caused me to reflect on my life and it has taken me years to get my feet on the ground (with a relapse at times.) For those who read my mini autobiography in the Culture Forum know that when I was young I purchased a brand new Trans Am (sports car).

Now I’m 62 years old and my everyday transportation is a 26 year old economy car.

Life’s experiences can help us to get our feet on the ground.

I am realistic, i try to have both feet on the ground and don´t spend beyond my means. Nothing like to be free of debt, and i know what does it means over charging the credit card. The interest rates for not cancelling  or paying only the minimum allowed by the bank are soaring the debt to the sky .

I know something I want to reach in my life, requires so much effort. I have my feet on the ground. Maybe I can’t achieve my purpose in life. I should be realistic and try more to achieve more.
