Steph: Hey, John. Can I ask you for some advice?
John: I dunno. It depends on what it’s about.
Steph: Well, I got my heating bill last week and it was like a hundred and seventy dollars.
John: Are you kidding me? What kind of heat are you using?
Steph: It’s gas, but I don’t know. I mean, I kinda keep my house warm.
John: What temperature do you have your thermostat set at?
Steph: It’s usually at about eighty.
John: Shut up! Seriously?
Steph: I like it hot. I mean, I just, I like to walk around my house and be comfortable you know?
John: Well, I guess you are from Hawai’i, so that makes sense, but that’s a little warmer than most people have it. Like mine’s set at sixty-eight all the time.
Steph: Oh my god. Aren’t you freezing all the time?
John: No. I just wear layers. I wear pants and a sweater or something. Didn’t your mom teach you that?
Steph: My mom didn’t really teach me anything about heating the house.
John: Whenever we were cold, my parents just told me to put on more clothes.
Steph: I just turn on the heat. I guess I’m paying for it now.
John: I don’t feel so sorry for you anymore.

Does your heating bill go up a lot in the winter, too? This is always a problem because it costs a lot more to heat your home in the winter. Some people put plastic around their windows to keep the heat in their house. Other people just layer their clothes to keep warmer. I just jack up my heater as high as it goes.
each his own[/def], I guess.
Have a great weekend!
