Last Saturday I went to see a movie the day after it opened. I walked into the theatre excited because I believed I was going to watch something entertaining.
The movie I went to see was The Score. Find out below if I liked the movie.

Nedra: Hey Chad what did you do last weekend?
Chad: Well, I kind of had an exciting time, I did something different. I was on a house boat, did some water skiing. It was fun.
Nedra: That’s cool, um, I just went and watched a movie.
Chad: Oh yeah? Which one?
Nedra: Ah it’s called The Score. It just came out last weekend.
Chad: Does that have Robert DeNiro in it?
Nedra: Yeah, he’s good, but this movie just wasn’t what I thought it was going to be at all.
Chad: What was the plot?
Nedra: Basically, the storyline is pretty predictable, half way through, you figure it out.
Chad: So did it have like some, some comedy in it or was it pretty much just high drama,
lota action?Nedra: That’s a good question I think half way through the movie they tried to throw in some comedy, but it was just kind of hokey so it didn’t make much sense. I wouldn’t recommend going to see it. It’s just, there’s better movies out there.
Chad: Who did you go see it with anybody?
Nedra: Ah I went to see it with my boyfriend and my roommate…
Chad: Cool.
Nedra: And they both didn’t like it either so…
Chad: Ah.
Nedra: Just don’t go see it.
Chad: Okay.

Discussion
After listening to this conversation a few days later, I realized that I didn’t mention how great an actor Edward Norton is in the movie. I spoke with some friends about this movie right after my conversation with Chad and they pointed out that even thought the plot in The Score was weak, Edward Norton really did play an interesting character.
Otherwise, I was really disappointed that I could figure out the plot for this movie in one hour. I just kept thinking how I would have ended it differently and how many different twists and turns the movie could have had.
Have you wanted a movie to have a different ending? Were you frustrated with a movie’s ending? Let us know about it on the “Movie Madness” Message Board.
Until next week,
Nedra
