Miguel: Did you watch Jay Leno last night?
John: Uh, who was on it?
Miguel: Matt Damon. He’s in that new movie Ocean’s 11.
John: Oh, that movie looks sweet. Aren’t there like six big-time actors in it?
Miguel: I don’t know how many. There’s like Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon. Who else?
John: I don’t know, but it’s definitely the only movie of its kind.
Miguel: Do you know what the story is?
John: I think they’re in Vegas, and it’s a bunch of, a bunch of good looking guys who are… are they trying to rob a bank?
Miguel: I think they’re trying to rob a casino. That’s what he was talking about last night, but I, I wasn’t really paying attention so I didn’t understand.
John: Well, I don’t really care. I just want to go see all those stars on one screen.

Ocean’s 11 is a remake of the original Ocean’s 11. The original was filmed in 1960 and starred Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., and others. Some of the men in the 1960s version of Ocean’s 11 belonged to the “Rat Pack”. There is no “Rat Pack” today, so the director of the Ocean’s 11 2001 version chose the more popular actors during this time in show-biz.
Do you like watching remakes of old films? Do you think the original is usually better? Come chat about it on the Movie Madness message board.
Have a great day!
