Hello Moviegoers,
Have you seen Minority Report yet? John saw it last weekend, and he loved it. Apparently, it’s a true thriller, and has some great special effects. The movie stars Tom Cruise, who is a huge star and a great actor, and was directed by Steven Spielberg, so my bet is that it’s a great film! Listen to what John had to say.

Brett: What’d you do last night?
John: Not much. I did go see that Tom Cruise movie, but it was a pretty low-key weekend.
Brett: What Tom Cruise movie? Minority Report?
John: Yeah.
Brett: Was that good? I heard it was…
John: Dude, it was awesome.
Brett: What’s it about?
John: It’s hard to explain. You kinda have to see it. But, basically it’s about these police in the future – I think it’s 2054 or something – who know what’s going to happen before it happens. They arrest people before they commit the crime.
Brett: Oh, OK. So, what’s Tom Cruise?
John: He’s one of the police. But, he actually ends up getting in trouble. I don’t want to give it away, but he has to run from the other police. It’s pretty cool.
Brett: Nice.
John: The coolest thing, really, are the sets. The way they designed the sets to show the future is pretty amazing. I think they’re using computer graphics and stuff, but it looks totally real.
Brett: I like those movies where they show the future as this completely different place.
John: Yeah.
Brett: Like, did you see, the uh, The Fifth Element? That movie was a trip. They had these huge cities with flying cars and everything.
John: It really makes you wonder if any of that kind of stuff is going to happen in our lifetime.

Discussion
I’m pumped to see Minority Report. John really liked it, and movie critics are giving it very high marks. I’m interested in seeing what Spielberg’s version of the future is. He recently made another movie that showed the future called A.I., but I didn’t really like that film. The future depicted in that movie was a little weird.
Have you seen Minority Report? Do you like Tom Cruise? Do you like movies with special effects? Come to the Movie Madness message board and let us know!
See you next week –
Brett
