anogy / anguish

Hi.

Could you tell me in what way these adjectives are different, "agony" and "anguish"?

It would be very helpful if you teach me with some examples.

Thank you in advance.

Hi, Takuya! "Agony" and "anguish" basically mean the same thing: intense physical or emotional pain. They are both nouns, not adjectives. So we say, for instance, "She experienced intense agony when she lost her baby" or , "I felt so much anguish when my husband left me."

Thanks for your question!Smile
