What does 'you have me' mean?

In the lesson Trains ,


Amanda:  I was wondering if you’d want to take a cross country trip with me by train.


Marni:  You had me at cross country trip, but then train? So long! 


What does Marni mean by ‘You had me at cross country trip’? Does it mean “I agree with you. I’ll join you at the cross country trip” or ‘I’ve already had a trip with you.’


What I don’t understand is why she uses “Had” past tense? You had me? Which indicates this was happening in the past?

“You had me at” is an expression that means, “You got my attention; I’m interested in what you’re saying.” Marni uses the past tense because Amanda’s first sentence got her attention. She was interested in what Amanda had to say from the words “cross country trip.”
