Child versus kid

daninitu

Hi,

I have a doubt about using child versus kid.

Is there a rule when should be used “child” and when should be used “kid”?

Thank you in advance!

Child is often used in more formal situations, while kid is less formal. If you are talking to someone in a business situation, use child. Otherwise, if you’re talking to your friends, kid is fine.

Best,

Amy
