1) I was very exhausted in the evening.


2) She is very tired after a day’s work.


I’m confused regarding the use of the adverbs ‘much’ and ‘very’. Can I say like I’m miuch tired, as tired is a negative adjective? Generally we use ‘very’ with the positive adjectives like we can say he is very intelligent . So please advise?

“Much” is both an adverb and a determiner.


Here are some examples using “much” as an adverb:


1) She doesn’t visit her family much.


2) Thank you so much for your help.


Here are some examples using “much” as a determiner:


1) I did not get much sleep.


2) I’m not much of a cook.
