My Precious Children, My Plight, My Life, My Story is the true, heartbreaking
story of an American woman whose life took many twists
and turns. There was marriage, separation, divorce, imprisonment
in a foreign country and making the heart-wrenching decision to
leave her children on foreign soil or continue to be oppressed by the
very man she married for happiness. The marriage was destined to
failure because Maha’s “free spirit” conflicted with her husband’s
dominating character. Maha also had to regain her memory and learn
how to walk and talk again because of a horrifying car accident that
left her in a comatose state for over two months.
Maha courageously underscores the significance of following the
command of God in the Holy Qur’an and the examples of Prophet
Muhammad for some of today’s most controversial issues, such as
treatment of women, racism, relations with other religions and other
spiritual aspects of Islam.
Maha Sabur was born in 1962, a “military
brat” who experienced the racial and political
riots of the sixties. She saw life differently
and her ideas contradicted those of her
father. The biggest contradiction was her religious
and racial beliefs, which led her to
become a Muslim and eventually marry her
first husband, a Muslim.
(When I wrote this book it was my intentions to inform people all over the world of the true Islam. It was the will of Allah I was fortunate enough to find very reputable publisher affiliated with many well-known commercial interprises with the means to distribute it world wide.
I am only hoping for Allah's satisfaction and rewards. Anyone who has the means and would like to help in any way, I would appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. More importantly may we reap Allah's rewards InshaAllah

“In the name of God, most gracious, most merciful”
My name is Maha Sabur (Given name is Deborah Knight); I'm a Caucasian American Muslim. I was seventeen when I converted to Islam, and married my first husband, a Saudi Arabian man in 1980. I moved to Saudi Arabia when I was nineteen, and lived there for appropriately eighteen years. I basically lived in Saudi Arabia as a Saudi, even learned to speak Arabic. I gave birth to six children with my Saudi Arabian husband. The oldest child is a boy, and he has five little sisters. I obtained an Islamic divorce from my Saudi Arabian husband five years ago. I have been back in the states for approximately eleven years, staying in contact with my children. With the help of my son I was able to visit them in 2005. On July 29th 2006, I remarried a wonderful African American, Muslim man born in Mississippi to a merchant family. I previously resided in San Diego, and recently relocated to Kansas City, Missouri. As a result of my accident and the many favors of Allah, the catastrophe of 9/11 and the Iraq war, I decided to write this book. The media and radio began targeting Islam and Muslims, because of the wrongful acts committed by oppressed Muslims, acts totally against Islam. The majority of Americans are unaware of the way God guides mankind to conduct him or herself by way of the Holy Qur’an, and the way of the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). They believe solely in what they hear. I was not surprised to hear that a vast number of Americans simply want to know the truth.
Since I lived between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia for many years, God has allowed me to comprehend what non-Muslims fail to understand about Islam. I address some of these misguided ideals being placed in the minds of millions in my book. The book is a story of my life from birth to present.
My life has taken many twists and turns, kidnapping, escaping through Pakistan, jail, a horrifying car accident, and more. While telling the story of my life, I quote passages from the Holy Qur’an explaining how God guides mankind to conduct themselves in similar circumstances. I lived in Mecca for a while, and made Hajj two times. I describe in detail the Ka’bah (house of God), the duties of Hajj, and the reason why they are performed. I also visited Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and give a similar description of it, along with a few interesting incidents which took place. The writing of this book is also a tribute to my loving children, and the hardship they endured. It also speaks of the plight of ethnic minorities, such as the barbaric, inhuman atrocities the African Americans were made to live through. They were forced by slavery to live in this land, and even fought in wars loosing their lives for this “Land of the free, home of the brave” so to speak. Furthermore, they were not allowed to vote for the person (President) who would send them off to their deaths. People are always talking about the holocaust, but I ask, what about the holocaust that happened right here in the U.S. in our own backyards with slavery.
