Minneapolis Minnesota. The Minnesota Twins announced on Monday relief pitcher Matt Capps has been placed on the disabled list with inflammation on his right shoulder.

Capps has been bothered by his injury this summer. Capps tried to pitch through the discomfort but was ineffective in his relievers role.

The Twins will probably use left handed pitcher Glen Perkins and right handed pitcher Jared Burton as replacements for Capps while he is on the disabled list healing from his injury.

The Twins called up from their AAA minor league team in Rochester New York left handed relief pitcher Tyler Robertson to replace Capps on the Twins roster.
