In my Spanish book I just read who Rigoberta Menchú is: She fought for the rights of indigenous people in her homeland Guatemala and all over the world. She stood up for more participation of indigenous people in her country’s government and for that she already received many awards – amongst others the Nobel Peace Prize she received at the age of only 33, which makes her the youngest Nobel Prize winner till now. A part of this money got used to create a whole chain of pharmacies for her country, Guatemala, since there medical healthcare isn’t as extensive as in most industrial countries as you may know already.
