Homeland- theres nothing you could have said better than you did. I choose to think he didn't mean to be rude, that it was a cultural difference. But if he did choose to be rude, he's a grown man and can stand for it himself.

Oscar, sometimes you can be rude too. None if it is really my concern, but you guys will never live in peace by insulting each other. Given the bloodshed in the region it must be hard not to be rude to each other for both of you, but more hate will never result in less killing.

Although I don't presume to speak for him, I think when Homeland refers to your speech as 'sharp', he meant you were being quite rude without good cause. I think he was trying to be polite and just hinting about it. But I'll say it plain out. I suspect what's polite there and what's polite here aren't the same.

You are quite wrong about being "sharp". I have no idea what it means in your culture, but "sharp" talk will get you enemies in my culture. Even in small towns, such "sharp" talk might get you killed here. There is no need to be rude. We are trying to avoid war aren't we? Or at least avoid conflict?
