Tomorrow morning is starting Ramadan(22.08.2009). Let's see....

It is the Islamic month of fasting, in which participating Muslims refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, and indulging in anything that is in excess or ill-natured; from dawn until dusk

Dusk is the beginning of darkness in the evening.

Dawn time that marks the beginning of the twilight before sunrise.

For non-Muslims, the UAE's law ban eating and drinking in public during Ramadan.

ban - to forbid(= refuse to allow)

First day of Ramadan was for me good. All restaurants were closed on this day. I didn't see anyone drinking or eating. Tomorrow is work day for me. Let's see:) I 'm sure that will be tough.

I my opinion Ramadan for Non-Muslim People it’s like the hidden game. When you would like to eat you have to go in special room and eat there. The big problem you can simple forget about this rules and get out with a cap of water. I don’t like to think what might have happened if I will go out with the cap of water in the public but I’m sure that this wouldn’t be the end of my live. I try to keep these rules in my mind.

A small story: 2 minutes ago I saw tow Philippine guys in this “special room”. They made the coffee and they’d like to bring it in whose section. The problem is, they can go out with the drinks or food in the public. They joked –“I put the coffee in my trousers pocket”. The solution was the bag. The put the coffee in the bag and went to whose section.

There are a lot of advantages for example: The roads are half full in the evening; you can go on the beach and have fun because just a small number of people are there. The main advantage in my opinion is the work time. In Ramadan, that’s means one months, we have to work from 9am to 3pm.Usually we are working from 8am to 5pm. Strictly speaking I have o lot of private time now. And I must say I like Ramadan because of this point stronger.
