This is a good idea. I have said brb many times and people don't know what I mean. My Chinese friends say 88 for goodbye which confused me at first. BRB means Be Right Back, of course. DC means disconnected (a real problem in some parts of the world.) 

WC usually means water closet which means someone had to use the washroom.

Whatever you do, please do not think that 'gonna' and 'wanna' are real words. Get in the habit of chatting in PERFECT English and  you will just get better and better. Chat is wonderful if the person you are with is a native speaker (me, for instance) who uses the same words and grammar that you would see in a book, not the typical short forms. These are ok between really good friends but work against you if you talk to a stranger or someone you don't know well. But knowing the slang is helpful too. Whether you use it or not is up to you. At least IMHO (in my humble opinion)!

although i woudnt exactly call internet shortcuts slang,they are more just typing shortcuts.

watcha doin tomoz,hangin round with the fellas, spot a chick or two

gunna wash the mutt,bang the missus and chuck down a coldie or 6 

by the way,your a good sort, wouldnt mind givin me ferret a run around the park with you, bit a slap and tickle, you know

hi phikguad  yes i can see how good u are on slang    but u need to type what means they are.  u know we cant guess their meaning exactly  with our poor english :P
