hi pals. could you check the sentence for me? thanks beforehand

beefy man

China

I am writing a sentence by using a few newly-learned words.

This morning I was sitting my back to the morning when an almighty amouty of noises zoomed. I truned and found an owl fluttering in the window.

Is the sentence I wrote proper and natural? Are they the same if I write it and say it?

thanks.

thanks Long Star and your husband. "slam into window", I like the saying.:-)

But what about the words ALMIGHTY, ZOOM and FLUTTER?

The three words are the ones I want to use in the sentence. Are they too formal or what?

Occasionally, you might be able to associate the word "almighty" with noise – like "an almighty din". This is an informal use of the word. It could be a useful phrase if you want to be a bit sarcastic.

"Ching Ling, what's that noise out there?"

"Oh, that almighty din is caused by my husband trying his hand in the kitchen today!"

Thanks Lone Star and your husband of course may thanks to tiffintime as weel. It is so kind of all of you.

As to the word almighty I read an english vocabulary book edited by Chinese. There is a dialogue:

"Man:I heard an almighty amount of noises last night outside.

Woman:Oh sorry. It was my dog."

Thanks anyway. -:)

I heard an almighty amount of noises last night outside.

beefy man, I'll be careful about taking examples like this seriously because the word order of the sentence is grammatically wrong. The word "outside" should come before "last night".
