Saint pronunciation

Hey all,

I’ve checked in the dictionary and the phonetics to the word “saint” is something like “sent”, right ? But I’ve heard a song in which the singer seems to say “stain” instead of “saint” – I’ve checked the lyrics and he is really saying “Saint Edwiges”.

Do anyone know what is this other pronunciation to the word “saint” ? it may have something to do with the abbreviation “St” ...
