define RACISM

a number of posters have used the word racism in a way that I thought was not accurate. However, I realize that for some, the scope of the term may have moved beyond a more strict definition. 

How do YOU define racism?  In your own words. 

ZIONISM..

That's the only answer that osesame or any other fool that is obsessed with Israel will bring up.

Somehow the thousands of other human rights abuses and actual racist acts and policies are all ignored, just because the Arabs want the tiny strip of land that belongs to the Jews.

Given osesame's history of comments about Jewish people on this site, I find it funny that he has the call to accuse other people or countries of being racist. He's not alone in this.

Racism is discrimination of people because of their

- Nationality

- Religious belief

- Ideology

- Philosophy

- Racial Physiognomy (Skin Colour, Figure …)

- Social and Cultural Customs

In racism all these criterias are stereotyped by prejudice to discriminate people by

- Conquest of a country by war (Christian Crusade) or

- Colonialism (Dutchs in Indonesia, Belgians in Congo,     German Nazis in Poland)

- Stigmatizing (Yellow Star for Jews in National Socialism)

- Denunciation

- Building of Ghettos and Conzentration Camps (Jews in NS) 

- Inequale dealing relating to dispositions of posts in job, politics, societiy, community, school  

- Insults and distortions in medias like internet, radio, TV, news papers, magazines, books, film, theater

- Elimination of the assumed inferior race

to show the assumed superiority of one race towards an/several other/s race/s for

- Economic Exploitation

- Compensation of the own Inferiority Complex

- Survival against the assumed inferior race (that is often afflicted by the exact same criterias of racism like its enemy).

- Economic, Political, Religious and Personal Power.

ALL THOSE DEFINATIONS , HAVE BEEN PUT  IN ONE RECENT WORD…......ZIONISM.......

IT IS NOT A FIGHT IT IS A REAL,....

other than fifa's, the other definitions given seem to be much too broad and examples of what I mentioned in my first post. 

discrimination is not necessarily racism. 

Everytime it comes to racism and discrimination if one country/race/ethnic/religious group conquers another. When the Moors came to Spain and when the Christians came back for the Reconquista and the Inquisition.

of course i don't talk about conquest….i talk about the dealing…..of course all here know the defination, do u know how zionists deal with palstini ppl? and their planning, how they expel ppl from their houses? but for my explorer don't support photos now, i would show what is happning daily if u don't follow up trustful news? i think photos don't lie…....

Yes, I know about zionism. It's an exremistic world-view that uses and justifies brutal methods. But it's neither more nor less brutal than many other extremistic religious world-views like fundamentalistic Islam (Taliban) or Christianity (Crusades). Yes, the war against Palestine is terrible and I hope there will be peace again.

Not the photos lie. But the photographers who shot them often lie and want to manipulate the mind of the beholder. That's the reason why I'm so sceptic towards the media.

Do you know Daniel Barenboim and his West-Eastern Divan Orchestra? He is a famous genius jewish argentinian israelian composer, conductor and piano player. Together with his in the meanwhile departed american friend Edward Said who had been from palestinian origin he founded this orchester. It consists of muslim and jewish youths who are from Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia, Jordan and Israel. The vision of the founders was a peaceful live together of all the people in the Middle East. This orchester even played a piece of Wagner (a nationalist antisemite but great German composer) in a concert in Ramallah in August 2005. That was a big step towards tolerance and against racism.
