what does it mean?

about Italian flag

a common interpretation is that the green represents the country's plains and the hills, white, the snow-capped Alps and red, blood spilt in the Wars of Italian Independence.

A more religious interpretation is that the green represents hope, the white represents faith and the red represents charity

Five-stars-red Flag is Chinese flag

The current design uses red as its background and gold for its stars. The red background symbolizes the blood of heroes who died during the revolution. The golden colour mainly symbolizes that the Chinese are yellow race. The larger star symbolizes the leadership of the Communist Party of China. The four stars represent the traditional four categories of the people in the state, which are workers, farmers, intellectuals, and businessmen.

 Consist of two horizontal stripes, equal width. White colour represent innocent blood which was shed in many independence wars. Red one symbolise blood or the king.  

FLAG OF URUGUAY

The flag of Uruguay have got three influences:

= Influence from the flag of Greece: The colours, the blue and white lines, and the structure.

Latvia's flag is from an ancient king of latgalieši,ancient latvian tribe.  in battle against a russian tribe he died, and they put a sheet around him.  the place he lay was still white, but the edges that touch him where he was wounded were red.  the latgalieši use the sheet as a flag, and defeated the russians.  since then it been our flag :)

Flag of Thailand

Flag contains of five horizonal stripes in three colours; red, white, and blue.  The red stripes stand for the nation and the white  ones fro religion.  The wider blue band in center, occupying one-third of the total area, symbolizes the monarchy.  These three concepts-nation, religion and monarchy-unite the Thai people (www.thailandlife.com)
