Hi Nice to meet you! I am writing to ask a question regarding any difference between IS and WOULD BE. The other days, my friend asked me some questions regarding my personal character. In one of the question was, 'what is your strength'? I answered the question as follow: My strength is strong commitment to studying English.

here is my question, would it be possible for me to answer the question alternatively? such as  'my strength would be…..

If Yes  what makes difference between above two phrases?

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Thank you

Great question! Both "is" and "would be" are acceptable here. However, most people would use "is." Using "would be" implies a certain degree of uncertainty. It's more affirmative and direct to use "is."

Thanks!
