She is one of the best politicians of our time”.

I am not able to understand what does the phrase “one of the best politicians” mean? Or a phrase like one of the greatest moments?

Best regards,

United States

Sometimes we use the superlative in English to describe more than one person. For example, someone might like Hillary Clinton and think that she’s such a good politician that she should try to become president of the US. That person might also like a few other politicians that seem equally good. Instead of choosing one person to be “the best politician,” you can choose to say, “one of the best,” which just means that you believe that there are several people who are skilled and talented politicans.

I hope this helps!
