Definition

to be really cold, so cold you can’t feel your butt

Use

Everyone knows that when you get really cold, you start to lose feeling in different parts of your body. First your fingers and toes get numb. Your ears and nose get cold too if they’re not covered. But your butt? That’s a pretty big part of your body. You have to be really cold for your butt to get numb. That’s why any time you’re really cold, you can say, “I’m freezing my butt off!”

But, let’s see…what could actually make you so cold you can’t feel your butt? What could cause you to really freeze your butt off? How about jumping into a freezing cold river in the winter?

Well, that’s what Jason did just to demonstrate the meaning of freeze your butt off, and to raise money for the Special Olympics. And he wasn’t alone. Hundreds of other people froze their butts off with him, raising thousands of dollars for the charity and creating our first edition of Extreme English, baby!

kyliah Italy	Actually I've never freezed my butt off. Here in South Italy the weather may be cold sometimes but never freezing. Where I live don't even snow! I guess if i lived in North I would freeze my butt off but I really don't want to try it cause I really hate cold!

When I only wear one pant in freezing weather, but with thick jacket cover upper body, the only parts I feel numb is my butt and thigh. So I guess the first one using "freeze my butt off" must not be a female, lol~

Shugopy Paraguay	My country is so hot that is almost imposible freeze your but off. Maybe in winter and if you do the same than Jason you will freeze your but off… but i have never feel so cold in Paraguay. When I went to Argentina, some years ago I froze my but off because I went to the mountains to skiing, It was the first time that I feel the real cold -15! I just like the mild climate lol
